Individual DNA testing for more than 200 genetic diseases and traits, carried out by an accredited laboratory.

Annual heart screening (HCM)

An echocardiogram performed by a veterinary cardiologist, renewed every year for as long as the cat remains in our breeding program.

Why the heart screening is repeated every year
Pourquoi l'examen cardiaque est repris chaque année
HCM is a late-onset disease: a cat can be perfectly normal at two years old and develop it later. A DNA test only covers the known variants of a few breeds and can never replace an ultrasound. That is why every active breeding cat in our cattery is re-examined by echocardiogram every year, and why a cat that no longer meets our criteria is retired from the breeding program.
La CMH est une maladie à apparition tardive : un chat peut être parfaitement normal à deux ans et la développer plus tard. Un test ADN ne couvre que les variants connus de quelques races et ne remplacera jamais une échographie. C'est pourquoi chaque reproducteur actif de la chatterie est réexaminé par échocardiogramme chaque année, et pourquoi un chat qui ne répond plus à nos critères est retiré de la reproduction.

BAER (hearing test): not required for our breeding cats. We perform it specifically on our DBE cats, carriers of the dominant blue eye gene — Rakia and Adamo are both normal.
BAER (test auditif) : non requis sur nos reproducteurs. Nous le faisons spécifiquement sur nos chats DBE, porteurs du gène des yeux bleus dominants — Rakia et Adamo sont tous deux normaux.
Test reports are not published online, so that our documents cannot be copied and used fraudulently. Copies of both parents' health results are handed to the adopter with the kitten.
